Venture Valuation Tool
Model the potential returns of an investment.
The Venture Valuation Tool is an Excel or Google Sheets template for analyzing venture investment opportunities by modeling potential investment rounds (via equity, convertible notes, premoney and postmoney SAFEs), dilution, graduation rates, exit valuations, and likelihood of exit at multiple exit prices to analyze valuations, portfolio construction, investor returns, and more. Walkthrough
Highlights
Analyze venture investment opportunities by modeling potential investment rounds, dilution, exit valuations, and likelihood of exit at different stages. The model builds a potential cap table for a company to model ownership percentage and dilution factoring in investment rounds, postmoney valuations, and option pools. It uses graduation rates to factor in the likelihood that a company raises additional rounds, fails, or exits at different stages of funding, and estimates exit valuations at potential exit points, calculating expected value of each round of investment at each potential exit point and total expected return on investment.

Foresight's spreadsheet models can be used in both Excel and Google Sheets interchangeably; simply upload the Microsoft Excel model template from Foresight into Google Sheets, or download the Google Sheets to Excel, and everything will structurally work fine.
The models are originally built in Google Sheets, and the formatting is a bit better in Google Sheets; in Excel you may want to adjust the row spacing, fonts, and chart formatting to get the aesthetics you want.
